Dr Sarwar was General Secretary of the Pakistan Medical Association when they held a ‘mushaira’ in 1983 to honour the progressive poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz whose poetry was anathema to the military regime of Gen. Ziaul Haq. In these photos, Dr Sarwar, Dr Badar Siddiqi and Dr Tipu Sultan sit on the dias along with Faiz Sahib, all of them clearly enjoying themselves.

Beena,can you add Facebook button on your add menu, this will facilitate many, I want to post articles on Dr.Sarwar and his friends of DSF and PMA, and the (progressives of “yesterday”- obviously not today – they are sold out in my opinion – this is where we are different), but i believe you are democratic, and will accept my rights too over Dr.Sarwar and his legacy, me and my friends being the actual heirs of their struggle.
